The USACE contract expands Stantec`s services to the District of Baltimore. Stantec currently offers project management, architecture, interior architecture, static, landscape architecture and land surveying for the new Forces Battalion Operations Facility at the Humphreys Engineer Center in Alexandria, Virginia. The location of each project under this new IDIQ contract is defined by individual work orders that will be assigned at a later date. This press release was written and distributed by Stantec Inc. With more than 22,000 employees, Stantec is considered by Engineering News Record to be among the top ten of the world`s leading design and architectural firm among the top ten of the architectural firm. According to USACE, the dredging equipment for the project will come from routine dredging of the Federal Navigation Channel Tiger Pass, which begins south of the Venice Marina. The total cost of planning is estimated at $1.6 million under a 75% /25 per cent federal cost-sharing agreement without the federal level and will create approximately 150 hectares of new habitat. The non-federal sponsor, which is responsible for up to $410,000 in design costs, is the Port Harbor and Terminal District (PPHTD) plate mine. Once the project is complete, the project will depend on the next periodic or special funding for the Tiger Pass dredging. Colonel Stephen F. Murphy, chief of the District of New Orleans and Sanders, was at hand to execute the documents. Port Commissioners Benny Rousselle and Trudy Newberry, Port Deputy Director Paul Matthews and Plaquemines Coastal Director John Helmers also participated in the signing.
