23.09 – The member notices, directly or through the association`s agency, a fee charged to third parties who wish to use works registered under the conditions indicated in point 23.08. If it is not possible to reach agreement on such a levy within thirty days of a Member`s request, an appropriate fee is set by the Patent and Copyright Committee established in accordance with point 23.13. 26.04 – Procrastination measures, Members may be encouraged to accept the state of financial constraints: voluntary leave, voluntary early retirement, voluntary reduction of responsibilities and separation of salary or voluntary separation, provided that before such an agreement between a member and the board of directors: 15.34 – When a deadline for the fulfilment of a member`s mandate is set by this Article 15 , the board of directors and members involved in the procedure or participating in the procedure take appropriate measures to ensure that the deadline is met. However, if there are appropriate reasons, the decision period and the possibility of extending the appointment of the member may be determined by the association committee, in agreement with the parties. However, the person who needs the renewal must, in due course, communicate to the procedural member the appropriate reasons and communications regarding the renewal application to the Board of Directors and the CBA. 27.05 – At the request of the association or the Senate, the Board of Directors establishes an independent Financial Advisory Board consisting of a member appointed by the Board of Directors, a member appointed by the association and a president elected by those two members. If a president is not elected within 10 days, S. Bruce Outhouse or someone chosen by him will act as president. 16.07 – If a member makes a joint appointment in two or more similar faculties, schools, departments or units, it may be considered for promotion in one of these units. During the review of promotion within a unit, consultations are held with the other unit in which the member makes appointments, but promotion cannot be denied within a single entity simply without agreement. Transportation may be granted in one unit, subject to the provisions of this clause 16.07, even if it is not granted in others. Dalhousie University`s Board of Governors and the Dalhousie Faculty Association (DFA) have agreed that a conciliation body will be appointed as both parties continue their work towards a new collective agreement.

„All the associations in the country and all the universities in the country have learned in this pandemic that we must prepare for such situations and that we must include language in our agreements,“ van Bommel said. For universities that, unlike Dalhousie, are not in collective bargaining this year, the Canadian Association of University Teachers has recommended that unions negotiate letters of agreement with their administrators to deal with the fallout from COVID-19. 14.21 – Non-professional librarian members referred to in paragraph 11.16 may not be transferred to other departments or units of Dalhousie University or transferred to functions without the consent of the members concerned. Applications for transfer or reassignment to available agencies are not disproportionately rejected. 20.08 – A member`s workload may include the evening class time, during summer sessions, in a second department or other unit with Dalhousie University or outside of campus teaching, pursuant to section 21. These teaching tasks may be assigned in accordance with existing rules within departments or other teaching units that were completed prior to the signing of the collective agreement.
